Bayliner 2855 Ciera Sunbridge – Sahara
Owners Comments:
Sahara, a Bayliner 2855 Ciera, is our first boat and we are delighted with her. We have owned Sahara for nearly 8 years and are only selling her because we want to move to something larger. During this time we have maintained her and upgraded her in a number of ways. She has had new electronics, with combined chart plotter and fishfinder, a new ICOM vhf, tank senders, snap davits and a number of other minor improvements. She is the SE (Special Equipment) version of the popular Bayliner 2855 model. We also preferred teak to carpet, as we think that carpet inevitably gets grubby on deck. Therefore we had tek-dek laid. We preferred this to real teak, as it is easier to keep clean and fresh looking, as it does not fade. It also helps give the boat that luxury look. For the full details on Sahara, click here . We also took the view that the most important part of a sportscruiser was its engine, so we put in a complete new, latest model, Mercruiser engine and sterndrive package about 3 years ago. This gives reliability and a bit more power with the latest most reliable electronics for consistent starting.
She spent the first few years of her life on Windermere, but we decided to move to Conwy. She is put on hard-standing every winter.
The boat is named after our granddaughter whose name derives from the place where her parents first met – Sahara!
Sahara holds many fond memories for all the family and there is even a picture of our dog, Alfie, driving the boat, on the local berthholders website!
