1988 Victoria 34 for sale in Kent

This Victoria 34 is a beautifully presented example of this classic blue water yacht.  She offers six berths in two cabins and is being offered for sale with a Yanmar 3GM 30F diesel engine, alloy Selden mast and boom.  

This Victoria 34  has undergone a substantial winter refit including, new extra battery and battery management system, complete replacement of all navigation and safety equipment. Over £15,000 worth of upgrades, maintenance and repairs have been carried out over the winter/spring 2024. The owner is only selling due a sudden change in family circumstances.

Accommodation

This Victoria 34 offers six berths in two cabins with some 6ft headroom.

The Forward Cabin has a double V berth with infill and storage beneath. Between the forward cabin and saloon is the heads compartment with a new Jabsco Electric marine toilet with Manual pump fitting available for long sea passages that was fitted in March 2024, there is also a shower and basin with hot and cold pressurised water.

The saloon offers a single berth to starboard and a dinette which converts to a double berth to port. There is also a single quarter berth to starboard. The saloon has cream upholstery and boasts a Eberspaecher cabin heating system which gives a real cosy feel to the yacht. There is a central drop leaf saloon table which can comfortably seat seven people. The saloon has a rich teak interior which gives it a warm and comfortable feel.

The U-shaped galley area to port has twin stainless steel sinks, Nelson stainless steel 2 burner cooker with oven and grill, with all new flexible gas hoses renewed in 2024 including new metal braided connection to the cooker. The Gas Safe certificate has also been completed and is due for renewal in May 2025. Isotherm ASU 12V fridge. The galley has excellent stowage.

The yacht has pressurised hot & cold fresh water system with a capacity of some 200 litres in twin flexible plastic tanks that were replaced in July 2024 along with new water filters for the galley and heads that were replaced in March 2024. The hot water is heated by the engine and a 240v immersion heater. This yacht also benefits from a manual fresh water pump in the galley. 

The forward-facing chart table is to starboard with usual stowage and electrical panels. The yacht has Ocean Airport shades to all windows, and all opening hatches were professionally serviced in March 2024

There is a good-sized cockpit with wheel steering with good storage and also benefits from a full cockpit enclosure. 

Mechanical and Rigging

Sails and Spars

This Victoria 34 is a masthead Bermudan sloop, with a keel stepped alloy Selden mast. Held in place by stainless steel standing rigging  that was surveyed in November 2023 with all recommendations professionally carried out. The running rigging was replaced in 2023/24 with a new Gas Kicker installed in December 2023 replacing the old rope strap. 

This Yacht has an In-mast furling mainsail with Selden Furlex headsail reefing, both the In-Mast furling gear and Furlex were professionally stripped down and serviced in 2023. All running lines are all led aft back to the cockpit.

Winches: All winches were professionally serviced in March 2024

Mechanical

Located under the companionway steps is a Yanmar 3GM30 marine diesel engine, 27hp. Three cylinders. Fresh water cooled via a heat exchanger. Single lever Morse controls. Shaft drive to a fixed blade propeller with rope cutter.  The engine was last professionally serviced in March 2024. This Yacht also benefits from a new start/stop panel that was professionally fitted in the cockpit. This also includes a new start/stop solenoid on the engine. The engine has completed a total of 1221 hours as at 26th July 2024.

This yacht has a cruising speed of 5.5 / 6 knots and a top speed of some 7+ knots. This boat also has a 4hp bowthruster fitted to aid boat control in marinas. 80 litre stainless steel fuel tank.


Electrical System

This yacht has 4 12v Batteries. 2 x Domestic (2021 & 2023) 1 x Engine (2022) 1 x Bow thruster (2014) All batteries charged by the engine alternator and topped up by a New Marlec Rutland 914i Wind generator that was installed in December 2023 together with solar capable Marlec controller/regulator that was also installed in December 2023. 

All batteries are managed by a new Vectron battery management system that was fitted in December 2023. There is a shore power connection with ring main, battery charger and immersion heater installed on this boat. All electrics professionally inspected in December 2023.

Keel & Hull:

This Victoria boasts an elongated fin keel with skeg rudder and Whitlock wheel steering

History and Construction:

Built in 1988 by Victoria Yachts and designed by Chuck Paine. A light cream grp hull with style stripes. Elongated fin keel with encapsulated lead ballast. Light cream grp coach roof. Wheel steering with rod linkages to skeg hung rudder. Stainless steel rails, stanchions and guard wires.

The yacht and rigging were last surveyed in November 2023, with all recommendations carried out. This Victoria 34 is currently British Small Ships Part 3 Registered. She was last out of the water in February 2024, when she was antifouled, anodes changed, and all the seacocks were serviced. The cutlass bearing was last changed in 2022 and the shaft bearing in 2017. The rudder and shaft were solid with easy movement when checked when she was out of the water in Feb 2024.
