The Achilles 9 metre is widely regarded as a strongly built, seaworthy cruiser offering good performance. She is very clean, well maintained. She has recently undergone work to have keel bolts checked and replaced and Standing Rigging replaced.
Accommodation
A good sized saloon area providing 5 berth with recently re-upolstered cushions with deceptive lazarette storage below. Deep and spacious open lockers below teak effect storage lockers providing deceptive storage space. Standing headroom to bright airy saloon. The Saloon benefits from a cleverly designed table arrangements that provides a modest day table. Teak evening table which when not in use slides ingeniously and unobtrusively against the saloon bulkhead. New Curtains and rails. Quarter Berth located to starboard aft quarter. Forward Berth provides 2 berth with stowage compartments to either side and forward. Deep and spacious lazarette stowage below. Opening hatch. Galley Area Flavel Vanessa 2 ring cooker with grill and oven. Double sinks with drainer, electric/manual pump to tap. Top opening food stowage bin, all with formica backed covers for use as food preperation areas. Cutlery drawer and shelving for crockery etc.. Mechanical and Rigging
2 cylinder Yanmar 2gm with conventional shaft drive through a deep sea stern seal to a two bladed fixed propeller (1995) "Stripper" rope cutter. Engine anodes replaced Jan 2004, shaft anode March 2003. New cutlass bearing March 2003. New engine mountings Jan 2004. Fuel pre-filter and raw water strainer .67 ltr approx. fuel tank removed serviced and new tap 1995. Engine and auxiliary battries charged from alternator via Hella Microprocessor-controlled managment system with blocking diodes. Battries also chargeable by 'Sterling' battery charging system (new Jan 2004). Shore power with RCD (fitted Jan 2004) to 3 separate sockets (galley, chart table and saloon) Procotor mast 'Z Spars' boom (1996) incorporating single line reefing to cockpit. S/S Standing Rigging 2008. Spinnaker pole. Kemp main 1997. Lightly used cruising chute with snuffer. Sailstack sailcover with lazyjacks by JKA salis Oct 2003. 'Gowen' furling genoa good condition and re-cut 2001 new UV strip April 2003. New Jackstays.
