Broker Remarks
This is a well equiped Barbican 33 that was launched in 1989, the underwater hull was cold tar epoxied from new. She originally started life as the bilge plate version but these were removed and she had ballast epoxied into the keel void to compensate making her a much better sailing boat with better pointing to windward.She has without doubt the best planned interior that I have seen on any barbican 33 and is finished to a very high standard. She is extremely spacious and has tremendous stowage throughout the boat with an extremely large space beneath the forward berths. For anyone wanting a solid crusing boat of this size I can thoroughly recommend viewing.
Accommodation
Forward double berth with attractive eliptical opening, port and starboard settee berths,(with leecloths) with saloon table between which lifts and stows up under the deckhead when sailing. Galley to port with Atlantic gimballed stainless steel 2 burner cooker with oven, 2 stainless steel sinks with H & C plus hand pumped FW and saltwater, chart table aft of galley. Large heads compartment to starboard with Lavac sea water toilet, H & C water and a shower. The storage facilies on board are first class.
Mechanical and Rigging
Designed by Maurice Griffiths, built by Barbican Yachts and fitted out by John Crawford she was commissioned in 1989. Very heavy GRP layup with white hull and Treadmar decks. Yanmar 3HM35F 3 cyliner 34hp diesel driving a 3 bladed propeller with single lever morse control. New engine mounts 2004. 3 x 12v batteries charged by engine driven alternator and Rutland wind generator. 180ltrs diesel in 1 stainless steel tank and 230ltrs water in 3 stainless steel tanks beneath cabin sole. Pressurised water system with hot water from 36 ltr calorifier. Alloy mast, boom and spinnaker pole all by Eurospars. Stainless steel standing rigging with new lowers 11/07, Roller reefed mainsail, slab reefed main, cruising shute, storm jib. Lewmar sheet winches.
