Accommodation
The luxurious classic barge "Kyanna" provides comfortable accommodation for six guests across two cabins, offering over six feet of headroom throughout for ample space and ease of movement. The vessel is equipped with a diesel-powered boiler for central heating, a gas hot water system, and two 5,000-litre water tanks, making it ideal for long-distance cruising, a holiday retreat, or as a liveaboard.
The forepeak, currently designated as the owner's cabin, features a spacious king-sized bed flanked by two bedside tables with storage drawers. This elegant and convenient cabin offers ample storage with multiple hanging spaces and drawers, complemented by two wall-mounted mirrors and a wall-mounted TV. The cabin is well-lit by an opening porthole on both the port and starboard sides and heated by a wall mounted radiator beneath the TV.
Situated on the port side between the owner’s and guest cabin, the bathroom is equipped with a sink set in a sleek drawer vanity unit with hot and cold water. The space also includes a standalone full-size bath, a separate full-size shower cubicle, and a toilet. This area is completed with a wall hung, mirrored medicine cabinet, and a large opening porthole above the bath.
Moving aft the guest cabin is located on the port side and presents a centrally placed double berth with two bedside tables. Storage is provided by a double sliding door wardrobe. This cabin is finished with a wall hung mirror, large opening window above the bed and a central heating radiator.
As you move toward the stern, the helm offers a commanding view of the vessel and easy access to full engine controls and navigation aids. While some navigation components could benefit from upgrades, this central command area remains the heart of the vessel. Sliding doors on both the port and starboard sides provide direct access to the deck.
Moving past the Helm, the expansive saloon invites guests with its ample seating area and entertainment station. Bathed in natural light pouring through four windows, the saloon exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfectly suited for both relaxation and entertainment.
Situated at the rear of the saloon, the galley is equipped with a white double ceramic sink with a mixer tap, a full-size four-burner gas hob, with oven and grill, full-size fridge and freezer. This space offers ample storage with both overhead and under-counter cupboards, all elegantly topped with marble-effect countertops.
The Galley door leads to the aft deck, giving access to the vessel cellar and engine compartment as well as a great outdoor entertainment space. Located on the portside of the vessel a ladder leads down to the vessel cellar housing the fuel tanks, grey water tank and the 2 large water tanks.
Additionally, the engine compartment is accessed via a hatch closest to the stern of the vessel, this area housing all 15 batteries and a small workshop area for repairs underway.
Mechanical and Rigging
Mechanical Systems:
This classic barge is powered by a robust 110hp DAF 1160 diesel engine, which drives a shaft-connected to a three-bladed propeller. Fuel is supplied by two large 1,000-litre steel tanks.
The vessel is also equipped with a diesel generator and a diesel Lister engine that serves as either a water pump or an emergency battery charger, both of which draw from the main diesel tanks. Additionally, a Vetus M3 bow thruster with its own independent fuel tank is installed. The engine is controlled by a single-lever Morse control, with a separate Morse control for the bow thruster.
The main DAF 1160 engine was last serviced in February 2024, the current engine hours are unknown. This vessel has a cruising speed of approximately 8 knots and maximum speed of approximately 10 knots.
Electrical Systems:
The vessel is equipped with 15 batteries (1 x 12 - Volt engine battery, 12 x 6 - Volt domestic batteries, 1 x 12 - Volt bow thruster battery, and 1 x 12 - Volt generator battery), all of which were replaced in 2022.
These batteries are charged via the engine alternator, solar panel, and a battery charger when connected to either the 240V mains.
Additionally, the vessel has a 240-volt ring main and a 1600w inverter. A Victron battery management system has been installed to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of the onboard electrical setup.
