1989 Broom 10/70 for sale in Kent.
The Broom 1070 was one of the last to be built. It had 2 new Nanni 200HP diesel engines fitted in 2007 that have completed circa 1600 hours each and have just been serviced ( June 2023). This motorboat offers six berths in two cabins and the saloon with an en-suite toilet and shower/wet room to the master cabin and a separate heads forward. With the condition of the interior mouldings, upholstery and diesel cabin heating and internal helm position she provides comfort all year around and would make a great liveaboard. She is only being sold due to a family bereavement
Accommodation
The Broom 1070 offers six berths in two separate cabins and the saloon. As you enter the boat you are greeted with a large cockpit that can comfortably seat six with helm seats that can be used facing forwards or aft. The cockpit has plenty of room with storage lockers, a folding radar arch and detachable canopy to suite the weather conditions. Easy access to the decks and the aft plating ladder and platforms. The helms position is well laid out with an array of navigation and engine instrumentation with a large protected windscreen.
The forward cabin has a twin V berth with upholstered headboards and linings, hanging wardrobe, storage cupboards and an escape hatch to the foredeck which gives lots of light and ventilation.
Aft of the forward cabin is a spacious heads with a manual toilet with a 80 Litre holding tank. A single sink with pressurised hot and cold water with vanity unit that provides good storage. The freshwater capacity is 360 litres
Aft of the forward heads is the U-Shaped Galley with a stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water, a 4 burner gas hob with oven and grill. The galley also has a Microwave, waste bin, 12v fridge, storage for crockery and cutlery and cooking utensils.
A couple of steps lead you up to the spacious saloon with a u-shaped settee to starboard with a dining table. Opposite to port is sideboard with lots of storage space with the inner helm position forward which gives excellent panoramic views . The saloon table can be dropped and used to convert the settee into a double berth.
Aft of the saloon and down a couple of steps is the master cabin with a large island double berth with twin dressing tables, wardrobes, mirrors and reading lights with upholstered bedhead. There is a small TV mounted on the wall for easy viewing. The escape hatch and portholes make the aft cabin very light and airy.
The en-suite heads has an electric toilet to the holding tank and also has a cupboard, mirror and razor point with a mixer tap with hot and cold water and has a show/wet room with a hot and cold water shower.
The warm coloured upholstery and the Mikuni diesel cabin heating with the rich coloured wood give this motorboat a real warm, homely and cosy feel.
Mechanical and Rigging
Mechanical Systems:
This Broom 1070 has twin Nanni 4.390 200HP Turbo diesel engines that were fitted new in 2007. The engines are freshwater cooled. The engines have a shaft to a three blade bronze propeller. The engines have Port 1614 hours and starboard 1596 hours as at the April 2023. The engines have just been serviced (June 2023) It has twin steel fuel tanks holding approximately 360 litres each. A through tunnel 4 HP Bowthruster makes handling very easy. This motorboat is also fitted with trimtabs. It also has a 4KVA Generator fitted which has just been serviced.
Electrical Systems:
2 x 12V Engine start batteries and 2 x 12V domestic batteries age unknown all charging from engine alternator, 4KVA Generator and via a 240V battery charger via a 240V shore power connection with a ring main. a 240v immersion heater is fitted to heat the hot water.

History and Construction:
This Broom 1070 was built and commissioned in 1989. She has a white semi displacement GRP hull with white superstructure with Flexi-teak decks. She has folding radar arch which increases her cruising area. She has been owned by the current owner since 2018 and is only being sold due to a family bereavement.
The vessel is presented in very good condition. She was last out of the water in August 2021 when she was antifouled, anodes changed and hull polished. The engines and generator have just been serviced (June 2023). The owners have completed approximately 300 hours on the engines whilst their ownership. The boat does require two new propellers, antifoul, hull polish and new anodes. A recent survey is available upon request.
