Broker Remarks
This Contessa 26 for sale is a very good example, she underwent a complete refit in 2005 stripping her back to the bare bones and starting again. She has had her engine rebuilt in 2014 and it is as good as a new engine now.
She has been extensively cruised by her current owners and performs well in testing conditions, this is a testament to the Jeremy Rodgers design and build.
The Contessa 26 is a popular boat for keen sailors as she is quick and has excellent sea keeping qualities, there seems to be a revival of yachts like Sophie especially around the Solent with many owners investing in these boats to revival them and some race them as they are potential round the Island winners in the right hands!
There is now very little to do to this Contessa 26, as it has already been done, get yourself a high quality yacht without the expenditure and time it takes to fit out a lesser quality and cheaper yacht.
A survey was done in 2014 and will be made available for those with serious interest!
Owners Comments:
Sophie is a high specification Contessa 26, set up for short-handed sailing and ready for extended cruising. She has been in her current ownership for 10 years; first on the West Coast of Scotland and for the last 4 years on the Fal, Cornwall.
We bought Sophie for £22,000 in 2005 and have kept her in good condition. She is now for sale for £16,000.
