Broker Remarks

This Elan 340 yacht was built in 2007, but not launched and commissioned until February 2009. She has had two owners from new including the current owner. The yacht is well maintained and updated by her owners. She will be taken out of the water in early April 2018 to be antifouled, anodes changed and the hull polished.  She has taken part in some of the local East Coast Racing Series. The Elan 340 is an absolute rocket ship in 5 -15 knots of Breeze.  The yacht is only being sold due to a change in crew/family circumstances.  A 2017 survey with all recommendations completed is available upon request. An early viewing is highly recommended.

Accommodation

The Elan 340 offers up to 6 berths in 3 cabins, including saloon, with a maximum of 6'2" headroom.  The Forward Cabin has a double V berth, with stowage below and a hatch to foredeck.  There is a wardrobe with shelves and a hanging rail.

Aft of the Forward Cabin is the saloon with a rectangular shaped folding table with central locker and settee berths either side of the saloon. Upholstery throughout is blue in colour. The central table also has a blue protective cover. The yacht has Webasto diesel cabin heating throughout.

Aft and to starboard of the companionway is the navigation area with its hinged navigation table. The chart table area also has lots of room for navigational and communication equipment as well as the yachts electrical switchboard.

The galley is located on the port side of the companionway and has two rectangular sinks with an integrated taps and laminated work surfaces. The sink has pressurised hot and cold water. Hot water is heated by the engine via a clarifier and a 240 Volt immersion heater. The yacht has a 200L cold water tank. There is a two-burner gas cooker with oven. Gas system was last tested February 2014. The galley has lots of storage which gives space for food, plates, cutlery, pans etc.

Aft of the galley is the aft cabin with a large double berth, porthole, hanging locker and storage beneath the berth.   

Aft of the Navigation station is the Heads compartment with white gel coat units with integrated sink with mixer tap with storage beneath and a marine toilet. There is also a hanging locker in the heads for waterproofs and lifejackets.

Mechanical and Rigging

Mechanical:

Located beneath companionway steps is a Volvo 29HP 3-cylinder marine diesel engine. Single lever controls with electric start. Rev counter. Saildrive to a folding 2-bladed propeller. Saildrive seal was replaced in 2016. The engine was last serviced by Golden Arrow Marine in March 2017.  The engine will provide a maximum speed of 7.5 knots. There is a 130-litre steel fuel tank.

Electrical Systems:

4 x 80AH 12v batteries (12 x domestic, 1 x engine, 1 x Anchor Windlass) smart charging from engine alternator and battery charger via 240V shore power supply.

Sails and Rigging:

Fractional rigged sloop with double spreader rig.  Seldon Keel stepped anodised aluminium mast and boom. Spinnaker pole. Stainless steel standing rigging, of which the Forestay and backstay were replaced in 2017. Manual adjustable backstay. Spectra running rigging has been replaced as required. Single line slab reefing mainsail with lines led aft to cockpit and Selden Furlex 200 furling system. Rod kicker.
