Accommodation
This beautifully built Elan 38 offers a total of seven berths across three cabins. The forward cabin features a double V-berth, complete with under-berth storage and side shelves. The forward cabin also includes a private Heads with a stainless steel sink set in a vanity unit, with pressurized hot and cold water and shower attachment with a built-in shower tray, along with a chemical toilet and mirror. The original sea toilet could be re-instated if required. The forepeak also offers an opening deck hatch overhead for ventilation and natural light.
The Saloon consists of booth dinette seating on the port side with under-seat stowage and numerous lockers and cupboards spread behind the seating area. The galley runs along the starboard side, featuring a double stainless-steel sink with pressurized hot and cold water, gimbled a two-burner gas hob with oven and grill, a 12-volt fridge, and ample storage space. Also included in the saloon is a radio/CD player. This yacht has two water tanks giving a total of 280 litres.
Aft of the galley, this Elan 38 boasts a forward-facing navigation station, perfect for accommodating full-size charts. Below the table, there is ample storage space for multiple charts, as well as housing the navigational instrumentation and the electrical distribution panel.
Opposite the navigation station, to the port side, is another set of heads that consists of a stainless steel sink mounted in a vanity unit, pressurized hot and cold water with shower attachment, a built-in shower tray that does require a new waste water pump, a marine toilet, and a mirror. Hot water is supplied by the engine through a calorifier and via a 240v immersion heater.
Located at the stern of the saloon to both port and starboard are two double berth cabins with under berth, hanging, and side shelve storage. Both cabins also benefit from a single opening portlight to the cockpit, this allows natural light and ventilation. The Starboard aft cabin also has an additional single berth.
This Elan 38 is equipped with Airtronic Diesel heating with outlets in saloon, and aft cabins.
The companionway leads up to a large aft cockpit for a boat of its size with bench seating surrounding the folding wheel steering set in a binnacle with a compass, depth gauge, wind direction, speed log, and engine controls at the rear of the vessel.

Sails and Spars
This Elan 38 is a Bermudan sloop with a Masthead rig, with a keel-stepped aluminium Z-Spars mast, boom, and spinnaker pole with adjustable backstay, and kicker.
The mast is secured by stainless steel standing rigging that was replaced in 2011. The vessel has a furling headsail with an in-mast furling mainsail. The running rigging was replaced in 2006 and as and when required.

This Elan 38 has a single 1996, 38HP Yanmar 3JH2E diesel engine powering a shaft-driven three-bladed folding propeller with rope cutter. The engine was last serviced by the owner in 2023. The Yanmar is supplied by a 100-litre capacity stainless steel fuel tank with Morse controls.
This yacht will cruise at approximately 5 knots and has an approximate maximum speed of 7 knots. This Yanmar engine has Circa 1600 hours.
Electrical System:
This Elan 38 is fitted with 2 x 220AH 12-volt batteries (1 x engine + 1 x Domestic batteries) all new in 2016 charging from the alternator, and 240v battery charger.
This vessel also benefits from a 240v shore power system with ring main, immersion heater and battery charger.

Built in 1996 this Elan 38 has a white GRP hull and superstructure with teak side decks. She benefits from cast iron fin keel, wheel steering with a spade rudder, a self-draining cockpit and anchor well, alloy toe rails, Stainless steel stanchions, pulpit. She was last out of the water in 2022 when the hull was polished, anodes changed and antifouled.
