Broker Remarks
The Etap 23 is a lovely family cruiser with a drop keel, providing good sailing performance, high standard of build quality and the security of having an unsinkable hull, provided by the buoyancy of the hull. This boat is an ideal first sailing yacht that has been well maintained by the current owner. She comes complete with a recently serviced twin axle road trailer. This Etap 23 is currently ashore on her trailer at the owners home in South Devon.
Built in 1984 and has a lifting keel and tiller steering. ‘Elbreth’ is powered by an 8hp Yamaha outboard engine that was installed in 2004 and accommodated in a well and gives a cruising speed under power of 6 knots. She has a fractional sloop rig and all lines lead back to the cockpit to enable single or shorthanded sailing. The rigging is original with the genoa being replaced in 2012. The interior is finished in a mahogany veneer with brass fittings complemented by red upholstery. The saloon has a chart table to starboard and a galley area to port. The galley is equipped with a sink and a twin burner alcohol stove. There are settee berths on either side with storage underneath. A pedestal table is stored under the cockpit sole and can be used either in the saloon or in the cockpit. The forepeak has a double ‘V’ berth and the settees convert to two single berths. There is basic navigation equipment on the boat which includes Autohelm, VHF as well as log and depth instruments.
Owners Remarks:
“A good little cruiser, with the added security of knowing she has sufficient built in buoyancy to remain afloat even if flooded. She performs well and can easily be sailed single handed. Ideal for coastal cruising and exploring estuaries. Can dry out with use of beaching legs when keel is retracted.
She has been sailed around the South West Coast for the last 12 years and stored ashore each winter. She has been craned on and off the trailer, so the trailer has not been immersed in water
