Broker Remarks
This Hunter Pilot 27 has been in the same ownership since new. S he is a clean and tidy example which has been regularly serviced and well maintained. The Hunter Pilot 27 provides a lot more boat for her size; she can sleep five and has over 6' of headroom; The internal helm ensures that she offers all-weather, all-year sailing.
She is powered by a Nanni 14hp 2 cylinder diesel engine that is fresh water cooled and was last serviced in September 2014, with 161 hours running.
This Hunter Pilot 27 has a raised deck saloon with a dinette to port that can be converted to sleep one. The aft cabin has a double berth and the forward cabin offers either two single berths or a double. The compact galley has a2 burner gas cooker with oven and grill, sink and icebox. There is a separate heads compartment.
'Dee Dee' has twin (bilge) keels which allow creek crawling but she also has a surprising turn of speed. An excellent family boat with good handling characteristics, and a self tacking jib making her easy to sail single or shorthanded. ‘Dee Dee’ has a lovely bright interior and internal helm position.
Practical Boat Owner report after testing in a Force 8 said:
"It only took a matter of minutes to become accustomed to the way she handled and the difference between being out in the elements and snugly installed indoors was immense. We were making good progress, tramping along at 5 to 5.5 knots...she never gave a moments anxiety. Happy with her upwind performance we turned tail...even with a spiteful following sea she steered a steady course needing very little work on the wheel to keep her going straight and true."
