Broker Remarks
Stella May is sturdy 27 foot long keeled craft which has bags of character and has been built to offer assurity when sailing. A quality sea going yacht with friendly motion offering fun sailing either day sailing or cruising further afield.
Accommodation
The accommodation offers five berths in two cabins with 6'2 standing headroom. Forecabin with vee berth, infill to form a double berth and stowage below. Separate heads compartment to port with a marine toilet (new 2001) and fold-down wash basin with cold water supply. Hanging locker to starboard. Saloon consisting of a dinette to port which converts to a double berth, galley and quarter berth to starboard. Cabins are heated via an Eberspacher hot air system.
Galley:
The galley is equipped with a gimballed 2-burner gas cooker with grill, galley sink with manually (foot) pumped filtered cold water supply and ample stowage. Crockery and cutlery included.
Mechanical and Rigging
Built in 1972 by Hurley Marine Ltd to a design by Ian Anderson. She has a GRP hull and deck with a teak rubbing strake. The superstructure is finished in a light grey non-slip surface. Hull was stripped down and antifouled in 2009. The vessel is tiller steered via a transom hung rudder.
Mechanical:
Sella May is powered by a 1990 Beta BD722 20hp fresh water cooled diesel engine which has 563 hours on the clock. It drives a shaft with a three bladed fixed propellor which gives a 5 knot cruising speed with 6 knots available tp speed. The engine is also used to charge 2 x 12V batteries renewed in 2010.
Rigging and Sails:
Masthead rigged with slab reefing main and roller reefing genoa. She is fitted with stailess steel standing rigging, stanchions and handrails and is equipped with anodised aluminimum spars.
