3 owners from new and certainly since 1988 wintered ashore every year. She has had a major ongoing refit since 2004 and is in very nice order. The 1080 is a very good sailing boat, immensely strong and very suitable for cross Channel sailing or coastal cruising. The underwater section has had all anti-foul removed back to gel coat prior to priming and anti-fouling again and is in particularly good condition. She is an excellent club racer or ideal fast offshore passage maker. Viewing is recommended.
Accommodation
8 berths comprising double V berth in forecabin, port and starboard settee/single berths in saloon, port side aft double berth cabin and starboard side aft 2 single bunk beds. Headroom 1.97m. Galley with 2 burner gas cooker, grill and oven, sink and cool box. Heads compartment with sea water toilet, handbasin and shower.
Mechanical and Rigging
Designed by Philippe Briand and built by Chantier Yachting in 1984 but commissioned and launched 1985 Volvo 3003 35hp 3 cylinder diesel with major overhaul 2005. 2 bladed propeller. 2 x 12v batteries (95 (2006) and 110 (2007) amp/hr) charged by engine driven alternator. 100 ltrs diesel in 1 aluminium tank and 170 ltrs fresh water in 1 aluminium tank. Pressurised water system. Alloy mast, boom and twin spinnaker poles, stainless steel standing rigging 2005. Mast checked and overhauled 2005. Elvstrom main serviced annually and still good, Bristol main 2003, Elvstrom genoa serviced annually, storm jib, Crusader spinnaker. Lewmar winches......6 Lewmar 40 2 speed genoa, spinnaker and halyard winches, 1 Barbarossa mast winch.
Inventory
Garmin 128 GPS plus repeater, Clipper log, depth and wind moniter all new 2005, XM DSC VHF radio 2005, Autohelm ST2000 autopilot, masthead tri-colour, steaming/deck light and bi light on bow all new 2005. Contest steering compass. Main anchor with new galvanised 40m chain, Kedge anchor with chain and warp, fire extinguishers, bilge pump, various warps and fenders, boathook, lifebuoy. Tiller steering.
