Broker Remarks
This Kelt 9M would be ideal for a purchaser wishing to cruise the Mediterranean; she has been a family boat in the Med under the British flag since she was new. The current owners have cruised Cool Cucumber extensively in the Med since 2001. In 2003 twenty year survey was carried out for insurance purposes, no major issues were identified & all recommendations were carried out. There was no evidence of Osmosis, but the recommendation was to coat the hull with epoxy as a precautionary measure - six coats of West System Epoxy with West System Barrier Additive Powder were applied (2005). Over the years an informal program of planned maintenance has been carried out, her gear has been progressively improved so she is now in better condition than her age might suggest. To give a few examples, holding tank, new windows & guardrails (2003), stern tube, shaft & rudder bearings (2004), engine bearers & toilet (2005), exhaust system (2007), resurfaced deck white non-slip (2009). Cool Cucumber has proved herself to be a capable, easily driven, fast cruiser. Her design is derived from a successful half tonner & her construction is more robust than many modern production boats. The accommodation is remarkably spacious, with two double cabins and separate saloon offering more privacy than normally found in a boat of this size. She has been a splendid focal point for the whole family & has given them great pleasure, but they are now ready for a boat suitable for more challenging ocean passages.
