Broker Remarks
This MGC 27 is an exceptional example; she was ordered by Rob Humphreys himself as his very own personal boat. He designed her to have a lead fin keel with a bulb shape at the foot which gives an excellent sailing performance. She is slightly shallower than that of the Standard fin, but has a better profile and is made from lead.
When Rob Humphreys ordered the boat to be built it was a hull only build from Northshore Yachts, the hull was moulded in 1992, and he sat on the boat for a further two years until he put the hull on the market. The buyer then took an additional two years to complete the fit out of the boat, and she was finally launched as a complete boat in 1996!
The current owner has owned her for the past four years and has mainly cruised her short-handed with regular coastal cruises. She has been set up for this type of sailing, with all lines leading aft to the cockpit.
The owner has had the engine professionally winterised each season and recommissioned during the spring, he also had the saildrive seal replaced during the winter of 2013/14, and he has also replaced the seacocks during his ownership.
The sails wardrobe is good with a plethora of different size headsails to chose from depending on how much wind there is, they are all generally in good order with the most recent additions in very good condition.
If you are looking for a fine example of an MGC 27 which was one of the last built and launched, then this yacht should certainly be on your list of boats to view.
Owners Remarks:
We purchased Collaboration from the original owners in 2013 and subsequent seasons have used her mainly for day sailing and cruising along the Southwest coast, where her impressive sailing performance and excellent seakeeping qualities; comfortable and spacious cabin and general ease of use have made her a pleasure to own.
Collaboration has been professionally maintained with a hull, and rig surveys carried out before the 2018 sailing season.
She is currently afloat in Plymouth, occupying a marina berth which is available for the remainder of the 2018 season!
