1989 Newbridge Pioneer Pilot
The Newbridge Pioneer Pilot is a very well-built family cruiser with enclosed wheelhouse allowing inner or outer helming. 6 berths in two cabins including an excellent double aft for a 26' boat makes this a very attractive cruising boat with the added advantage of bilge keels for drying out. Early viewing recommended
Accommodation
The Newbridge Pioneer Pilot has six berths in two cabins, a double berth in the aft cabin, shelves, and storage. Double berth in the open plan forepeak. Saloon seating converting to a double berth utilising the saloon table. Standing headroom in the saloon. Separate heads compartment with marine toilet and basin. Internal helmsman seating and controls. Galley to starboard with gas cooker and oven, cool box, stainless steel sink with pressurised pumped cold-water supply, carpet, and curtains throughout.

Sails and Spars:
Rigged as a Bermudian sloop with fractional rig, anodised aluminium deck stepped mast and boom (1989), slab reefing with lazyjacks. Spreaders replaced (2015), Stainless steel standing rigging (2015), Running rigging (2015). Bespoke made mast ladder.

Mechanical Systems:
The Newbridge Pioneer Pilot is powered by a Volvo 4-cylinder 18hp diesel engine (2002) shaft drive to a 3 bladed fixed propeller. (Engine last serviced 2016). Cutlass bearing replaced 2018. Last out of water maintenance May/June 2021, anodes replaced and antifouled.
Electrical Systems:
2 x 12-volt batteries (2016) charging from the engine alternator and solar panel. 240-volt shore power connection.

The Newbridge Pioneer Pilot in the mid 80’s after a change in company name to NB Yachts, Bill Dixon famous for designing Moody yacht was brought on board to create a 26-footer with interior space that would rival or beat that offered by the best selling boats of the era. White GRP construction with blue styling stripe, nonslip treadmater on decks. Bilge keel with spade rudder. Owned by the current owner for the last 7 years, a 2014 survey is available on request.
