Broker Remarks
A masthead rig performance cruiser of moderate draft and a good ballast ratio, designed for the cruising owner who wants performance with ease whether sailing shorthanded or fully crewed. “Bandit” is a well-presented Sigma 362 that has not been raced or chartered and has only been cruised locally in the Chichester Harbour and Solent areas.
Accommodation
7 berths across 3 cabins comprising: double berth in the aft owner's cabin; double v-berth (with in-fill) in the forward cabin; in the saloon, a double berth (port-side) and a single berth (starboard-side). In addition, a small pilot berth is located in the saloon above the starboard-side single berth. All berths have lee-cloths which befits an ocean-going yacht of this calibre. A sink with hot and cold water is situated in the forward cabin. The sea-going galley is located to port and comprises of two stainless steel sinks with pressurised hot and cold water, a manual cold water pump, fridge, and a Plastimo Atlantic 2-burner gas stove, grill and oven. Above the stove and fridge is a purpose-built crockery and glassware locker. Crockery, mugs, glassware and cutlery are included. The heads are located aft to starboard and comprises a manual Jabsco sea toilet, 2 moulded sinks with hot and cold water mixer tap & pull out shower, shower pump, shower curtain track, teak grating and a 240V razor point. A wet locker is situated to the rear of the toilet. The navigation station is located forward of the heads and includes a generously sized chart table, drawers, ship’s electrical panel, battery selector switch and voltmeter, GPS, VHF and stereo system. There is stowage beneath the navigator’s seat. Headroom is approximately 6’ 3”. The cabin has ample grab rails throughout. All upholstery is in 4” foam covered by a hard-wearing blue fabric. There are deck-mounted hatches in the forward cabin and the saloon. The boat is well ventilated with three stainless steel ecs vents and a dorade vent.
Mechanical and Rigging
Hull and deck moulded in GRP with high gloss gel-coat. Hull is stiffened by longitudinal and transverse stringer system and was laid up by hand using chopped strand matt and unidirectional rovings. Deck incorporates a non-skid surface and is stiffened with a balsa core and transverse bearers. The GRP construction was approved by Lloyds and the boat has a Lloyds Construction Certificate. Alloy toerail incorporating bases for pulpit/pushpit stanchions and with integral fairleads forward, aft and midships. The teak laid cockpit includes a large deep cockpit locker. A life raft stowage locker and 2 gas bottle storage lockers are located under the contoured helmsmanÂ’s seat. Designed by David Thomas and built by Marine Projects. Volvo 2003 3-cylinder 28 hp diesel engine. Shaft-driven twin-blade folding prop. Diesel Tankage: 109 litres with gauge. Water Tankage: 228 litres The engine has been regularly serviced and is currently winterized. Shore power (240 volt) and ring main sockets throughout. 2 x 12 volt batteries (one new July 2008); battery charger. Masthead sloop rig. All spars are by Kemp and are in a silver anodized alloy. Backstay tensioner. Kemp spinnaker pole. Mainsail cover. Sobstad Dacron mainsail and genoa (new 2003). No 2 genoa (working jib) and spinnaker, plus snuffer. The mainsail is slab reefed with 3 reef points. All lines are led back to the cockpit. The foresail is reefed using a Furlex roller reefing system. The original main (old, but serviceable) and genoa (tired) are also available. Mainsail area: 24.73 sq.m; Fore Triangle (100%) area: 27.41 sq.m. Standing rigging and running rigging was replaced in April 2002.
