Broker Remarks
This Southerly 110 for sale is in great condition! She has been in the same ownership since new in 2005, she has been professionally maintained each season. She shows very little sign of wear and has been cared for throughout her life, she has been used as a family cruising yacht & sailed to various locations around the south coast & France, as well as trips to the Isles of Scilly.
These boats offer offshore or river and estuary cruising in shallows, with draft from 7'2" to 2'4".
The Southerly 110 can be beached, sitting on its grounding plate and balanced on its twin rudder configuration. This twin rudder set up also enhances its sailing performance, minimizing weather helm due to the leeward rudder always digging in and keeping the boat on track. The swing keel is offered on boats from 32 to 40+ feet.
The Southerly 110 was a very popular model from Northshore Yachts, this particular Southerly 110 had numerous optional extras from the standard version as the owners wanted a very high spec when they placed the order for the boat from new.
Southerly are synonymous with lift keel yachts, they lead the way for the lift keel arrangement in yachts.
Owners Remarks:
Fantastically safe for the open sea (STIX 57, AVS 160!)and an excellent sail with the twin rudders for grip, but equally at home threading up creeks and taking the ground in little drying harbours by the pub! Snug and comfortable in foul weather, with ability to control the Autopilot from the Nav seat warm inside during long boring passages, with a properly thought-out layout for long term pleasure...
Sad to let her go, due to pressing move of home.
