Broker Remarks
This Trident Voyager 40 is a great example, she has been in the same ownership for the last fifteen years and has been maintained to a high standard.
The Trident Voyager 40 offers superb versatility; she is an excellent option if you are looking for a good performing motorsailer. She excels in 12 to 15 knots and starts to shift in these conditions, she is extremely stable and can easily be handled from the saloon using the autopilot. In the lighter breeze, she is good as you can turn the engines on and cruise comfortably without losing any time due to lack of wind.
The space that you get below decks is cavernous for a yacht of this size, there is plenty of privacy between the three cabins, with the owner's en-suite neatly tucked away to starboard in the aft of the boat. There is a shared head which is generous in size amidships, and the two cabins in the forward section of the yacht are also generous in size. The saloon again is cavernous with excellent seating for entertaining both with the C-shaped seating and L-shaped seating allowing up to 10 guests comfortably. The boat does feel like a 45 to 50 footer, not only the internal volume feels good, but on deck, you have the choice of two entrances/companionways both having separate cockpit areas as well. The raised centre cockpit is where the helm station is and benefits from a complete cockpit enclosure and the aft cockpit is excellent as it also has a walkthrough transom gate for easy access to the bathing platform when berthed stern too.
There is adequate navigation equipment onboard and a good autopilot for those longer cruises. She has two well maintained Volvo Penta 2003T engines, with the recent additions of feathering Darglow-props, both with rope cutters. The props were purchased to give that little bit extra sailing performance that you don't get with standard fixed propellors due to drag. All of the opening deck hatches and portlights recently had new perspex, and the cabin sole was also stripped to bare wood and revarnished professionally in 2018. If you are looking for a family cruising yacht or a liveaboard this ticks so many boxes!
Owners Comments:
We have owned the boat since 2002, having purchased her from the River Beaulieu and sailed her to the South West; which has been our home port and mains cruising grounds. Nomad has been to Southern Ireland, Scilly Isles, France and the Channel Islands.
She sails well and if needed the twin engines to power her along safely.
A perfect boat to take friends and family on passages and has plenty of room to entertain once at anchor or on a mooring.
We have enjoyed our 16 years owning Nomad and had many happy days afloat on her
