Ownership:
The current owner purchased Indy, his pride and joy in 2012 and had an extensive refit that same year. Her specification says it all with regards to what has been added to this boat.
The owner is a very experienced yachtsman with a naval background. The boat has proved to be a fantastic addition to their family with regular trips along the southwest coast and extended periods in the channel islands and Brittany coast.
Engine
The Hardy Comodore 42 is powered by twin Yanmar 6lY2-STE 420hp diesel engines. The engines had 440 engine hours only in August 2012 when the boat was purchased by the current owner. The engine mounts were all replaced as the owner wanted to ensure that the engines were as quiet as possible. Added to this was the extra sound proofing in the engine room and sound insulating carpet in the saloon to ensure absolute minimal noise when cruising.
Economy
Indy performs extremely well in all sea states and cruises well at 18 to 20 knots. She has a max speed of 24 knots. Her fuel economy is also very good with her using 5 litres per mile at 18 knots. With a range 330 miles and 100 litres in reserve. At high speed she will give 6.3 litres per mile at 23kts with a range of 275 miles.
