Network Yacht Brokers in Dartmouth have just listed this lovely Swan 38, MYRTLE, she has just been launched and is back on her mooring after a winter ashore.
She has been in the current ownership for two years and is reluctantly for sale due to the owners health issues.
All her Navigation Equipment was updated in January of 2017 in anticipation of some long distance cruising, which unfortunately wasn’t to be. This included Raymarine tridata, Windex, GPS, and Navtex
This Swan 38 was built in 1976 by Nautor Swan to a design by Sparkman and Stephens and her pedigree shows. Whether you want to hop along the coast or enjoy some blue water cruising or even some club racing.
The hull on this Swan 38 is epoxy coated, with teak side decks and cockpit seating. Powered by a Bukh DV24 24hp 2 cylinder engine, sea water cooled and reconditioned in 2013, approximately 1000 hours running time. Shaft drive to Maxprop 3 bladed self pitching bronze propeller.
Bermudan sloop rig with Sparkman and Stephens aluminium alloy spars, stainless steel standing rigging was replaced in 2011. Comprehensive suite of sails with Kevlar main and Kevlar genoa fitted in 2013. Mainsail slab reefing and headsail furling.
Below decks MYRTLE will sleep nine in two double and five single berths. She has a traditional layout the singles being saloon conversions and pipe cots with lee cloths. The long ports and deck hatch give a light and open saloon and the cream upholstery gives the feel of a more modern boat. Full sized chart table with easy access to switch panel and instrumentation.
