If you do not have an interest in the ISAF Offshore Regs, this is not the boat for you!

When I bought the boat, I had spent some time looking for a boat specifically to compete in the RORC Fastnet Race in the two-handed class, my eighth Fastnet. Since then I have competed in solo racing, a solo Fastnet and the Wolf Rock and a further RORC 2H series, including the Fastnet. Last year with a crew of just four, we cleaned up the IRC Class at the Services Offshore Regatta with four firsts and a second, gaining particular note for completing the final Offshore race two-handed.

She has been prepared with the ISAF special Reg Class 2 in mind and to optimize the IRC handicap ; a carbon bowsprit, changing to asymmetric spinnakers, makes for easy short-handed racing. Raymarine i-series instruments, two chart plotters and both the auto-pilot and back-up tiller-pilot are over rated for the size of boat. The battery system has been split to conform with the requirements for main and auxiliary power and the Sea-Gen charges both batteries independently with power to spare, at the cost of point one of a knot but benefits from not having to carry additional fuel. The accommodation is spartan but not uncomfortable and has been well looked after.

The offshore mainsail, jibs and asymmetrics have been specially cut and laminated to account for not having half a ton of rail-meat but the inshore wardrobe is full size.

Effectively with very little effort you could easily compete in another Fastnet, there should be little more to do than do some servicing, grab some food and go qualify!

Teekai had many upgrades during her lifetime, like standard mainsail to in-mast furling, upgrades to the navigation electronics, including radar & autohelm and from a cool box to a refrigerator box

The engine went from a single cylinder 8hp up to a 20 hp 3 cylinder engine.

Interior lining and windows just replaced.

We launched Teekai in the summer of 1983 at Dartmouth, which is my home port. Then in 1984 we started our travels.

We have been many times to Guernsey/ Jersey/ St.Malo/ Dinan/ Weymouth/ Torquay/ Hythe/ Plymouth/ Cherbourg/ Alderney.

This 39’ Colin Archer Motorsailor is a fine bluewater cruiser that has had a comprehensive refit during 2020.

Originally built in 1995, Maverick had a refit in the winter of 2006/2007 when a new rig was installed together with a new Beta Marine 75HP diesel engine. The yacht is fitted out below with a solid mahogany interior.

The recent refit has involved a complete overhaul of the rig together with new standing and running rigging. New winches have been fitted together with a complete deck repaint. The hull has been recently antifouled, the engine fully serviced and the wheelhouse, saloon and fore-cabin have been renovated.

A new diesel-fuelled hot air system has been installed throughout the yacht.

Owners Comments
Andante was purchased by present owners in 2001 from the previous owner/builder.
She was then extensively equipped for independent inshore and offshore cruising.
She is now a very comfortable, capable, and seaworthy vessel.
She has been regularly used and well maintained by the present owner, a retired naval officer, for over 20 years.
She has been taken regularly to France, the Isles of Scilly, the Channel Islands, London, the Welsh Coast, and most ports and harbours in between.
This sale is reluctant prompted only by poor health.

Owners Comments
Snowbird came to us in 2010, as the fourth owner. She was lying ashore in Shoreham when we took ownership of her. In the years we have owned her, we have mainly cruised the South Coast of England, taken part in the Classic Channel Regatta and several "Round The Island Races".

Having researched her history, she was entered the first AZAB (Azores and Back) race in 1975, by N.W.Neal.

Her next owner(s) were brothers who spent some 17 years racing Snowbird in and around Salcombe, Devon.

The owner prior to us was a gentleman from Hever in Kent.
