ARC Rally Portugal Leaves From Plymouth
ARC Rally Portugal Sails From Our Very Own Marina
Last weekend saw the return of ARC Rally Portugal to Plymouth, 17 yachts entered this very popular form of cruising.
Yachts were based here at Mayflower Marina Plymouth, the home of Network Yacht Brokers Plymouth, the days leading up to the start saw plenty of boat maintenance and safety checks by the very efficient ARC organizers.
With good weather forecast for this years event, yachts set sail on a glorious Sun soaked Sunday morning (02/06/13) crossing the start line at the Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club with a good 12/15 knot breeze.
There were plenty of spectators out to see the spectacle, viewing from all sides of the natural amphitheatre that is Plymouth Sound. Once the yachts had left Plymouth Sound they headed downwind, we enjoyed watching a number of brightly coloured spinnakers hoisted, and all yachts sailed off on the beginning of their journey.
