Broker Remarks
This Beneteau First 42s7 with its racing version regatta rig was one of the last of the S range models from Beneteau and probably the prettiest. Developed for offshore racing in comfort, the racing version proved to be successful. “Pointe North” is the regatta rig racing version and offers eight berths in four cabins with two heads and a very spacious saloon.
Accommodation
Blue leather pattern PVC upholstery to the saloon. Blue/white striped fabric upholstery to cabin berths. Carpets in cabins only. Blinds on ports. Pressurised hot & cold-water system to galley and heads. Hot water from engine calorifier and 220v immersion heater from shore power. CD player with speakers below and in the cockpit. Clock & barometer. From forward - Large heads forward with s/steel washbasin, shower, and good stowage. the two forward cabins both have two single bunk berths with storage lockers and drawers.
The saloon has curved seating to starboard, dining table and bench seat to port. Storage under berths and inside lockers. Galley to port with two s/steel sinks, mixer tap, gimballed gas cooker with two burners & oven, Fridge 12v refrigeration unit in cool box and good stowage.
Heads aft to port with s/steel washbasin, manual sea toilet, mixer tap with a pull out shower-head, shower drain and again good stowage. Large navigation station to starboard with navigators’ seat, chart table, instrumentation and stowage. Two aft double cabins with large double berths and hanging lockers.

Mechanical:
Volvo MD 22L four cylinder 50 hp fresh water-cooled diesel with heat exchanger and wet exhaust, flexibly mounted beneath companionway. Electric start and single lever engine control. Reversing reduction gearbox with shaft driven two bladed folding propeller.
3 x 12-volt batteries, 2 domestic 2019, 1 engine 2020 charging from the engine alternator, 12-volt battery charger, 240-volt ring main installed with shore power connection.
Sails and Spars:
Keel stepped fractional rig. Double spreader mast and slab reefing boom with stack pack. Rod stainless steel standing rigging - new 2012. Block and tack kicker. Backstay tensioner. Facnor twin groove headsail furling gear with below deck drum. Dyneema halyards, headsail sheets and spinnaker guys/sheets, Polyester reefing/control lines with all led back to cockpit under GRP garage via Spinlock clutches. Spinnaker pole with mast track/stowage. Genoa track/cars on side decks, Inboard “Solent” tracks/cars on coachroof.

History and Construction:
Pastel blue GRP hull with external lead shallow fin keel with winglets. Semi balanced spade rudder with large diameter wheel steering. Hard wood toe rail. White GRP deck and superstructure, and self-draining aft cockpit. Moulded non-slip deck surfaces and teak laid cockpit seats.
