The Europa 3000 is a five-berth cruising yacht known for its high freeboard and balanced design. Featuring a fin lead ballast keel and a GRP rudder underbody, it boasts a masthead rig sail plan. Designed by Chris Freer, this yacht offers impressive sailing performance. Originally crafted during the IOR era, the Europa 3000 remains a pleasure to sail, with a medium ballast ratio that complements its cruising capabilities. Accommodation

The Europa 3000 provides accommodation for five people across two cabins. The forward cabin features a double V-berth with an infill and under-berth storage. Moving aft, you'll find the heads compartment situated between the forward cabin and the main saloon. It includes a marine sea toilet to port with storage behind, a white sink mounted in a vanity unit, a mirror, a manual cold-water supply, and additional storage beneath the sink located on the starboard side.

The main saloon features a central table with 2 leaves flanked by settees on both port and starboard sides. Behind the backrests, you'll find shelves and lockers for additional storage, with more space available beneath the seating. The portside settee can be converted into a double berth using a pull-out infill, while the starboard settee easily transforms into a single berth.

The galley is situated on the starboard side at the aft end of the saloon, featuring a single stainless-steel sink with manually pumped cold water, a Flavel two-burner gas cooker with an oven, a work surface, and racks for cutlery and a crockery drawer. Opposite the galley is a rear-facing chart table, accompanied by a chart seat with battery storage beneath. This area also includes the VHF, Gps, Speed log, a 12 -volt output, vessel control panel and 240-volt fuse box.

Stepping out of the companionway, you'll find a spacious aft cockpit. The cockpit features bench seating to both port and starboard sides, along with tiller steering and navigational aids, including a Chart plotter, depth gauge, wind direction and speed log, and engine controls positioned at the stern.

Mechanical and Rigging

Sails and Spars:

This Europa 3000 has a masthead Bermudan sloop rig, with a deck stepped Kemp aluminium mast and boom, held in place by stainless steel standing rigging that was renewed in 2023. The vessel has a Rotastay furling headsail and a slab reefing mainsail, with lazy jacks and stackpack, adjustable backstay, and kicker. The Terylene running rigging was replaced in 2017.

Mechanical Systems

This Europa 3000 has a single 15hp, 2-cylinder Yanmar 2YM15 diesel engine, powering a shaft driven 3 bladed fixed propeller. The engine was last serviced in 2022. This engine has completed 73.2hrs. The Yanmar engine is supplied by a 32-litre capacity stainless steel fuel tank with Morse controls. This yacht will cruise at approximately 5 knots and has an approximate maximum speed of 7 knots.


Electrical Systems

2 x 12-volt 110Ah batteries, (1 x engine + 1 x Domestic) charging from the alternator, and via 240v battery charger when connected to main shore power. This Europa 3000 also benefits from a 240 Volt shore power system with ring main and outlets around the saloon.

History and Construction:

This Europa 3000 was Built in 1979 and commissioned in 1981 and was built by Northshore. The boat has a white GRP hull with a green styling stripe, a white superstructure and decks with non-slip surfaces, stainless steel stanchions, a pulpit, and a self-draining cockpit. The Europa 3000 also benefits from a fin lead ballast keel and a spade rudder with tiller steering. This boat was last out of the water in 2024 to replace the anodes, polish her hull, and antifoul. The current owner has enjoyed the boat for the last six years and has maintained her to a great standard. The owner is looking to sell the boat to move into dinghy sailing.
