Broker Remarks
J Boats need no introduction, throughout history, J Boats have produced excellent cruiser racers and out and out race boats. If you go down the list, those that spring to mind are the J22, J24, J80, J92, J105 and more recent models include the J70, J88, J97, J109, the list goes on and on. Thankfully Jazz is amongst the list of these Jboats and was a popular model; they offer a good mix of cruiser/racer with a comfortable interior and excellent performance, thus winning this model the Sailing Worlds readers yacht of the year in 1993.
This J92 is an early American built boat; she has a good inventory, her electronics have had a complete overhaul within the last four years, new batteries, asymmetric spinnaker in 2016, Harken genoa furling system and a road trailer to top it off.
The sail wardrobe is good; all sails are in good shape for local club handicapped racing Although if you are looking to race in class, you would need some new sails to be at the sharp end of the fleet, however, the bang for your buck with this boat and her equipment is very good! The owner is also open to sensible negotiations, so if you are looking for a cheap racer/cruiser, then you should certainly take the opportunity to take a look at this yacht. As mentioned earlier in these remarks the boat does come with a road trailer which gives you the chance to slip the boat and travel to regattas by road inexpensively or to store the boat on some private land you may have on your property.
Jazz has been given the preseason treatment with an interior freshen up, freshly painted deck tread areas, coachroof and cockpit polish.
The J92 is currently just been lifted into the boatyard and onto her road trailer, so there is no better time than now to see her underwater profile!
I purchased the Jazz back in August 2013, the reason I bought her was to put our old racing team back together, we used to own a custom 30 race boat and were looking to have a little fun together again with the lively J92.
I spent four months preparing the boat at home so that she was ready for the 2014 summer season, during this time I purchased a two-year-old double axle road trailer to store her on. We towed her to Fowey which is her home port for the past four years. We have enjoyed lots of local club racing, regattas as well as the odd passage race to Plymouth and Falmouth.
During my ownership, she has always been trailer stored on the hard standing during winter months.
She has a good level of club racing sails, I had Peter Saunders who is a chum of mine check the sail wardrobe and service some of the sails if needed. Jazz is a great boat that we have enjoyed immensely.
