Broker Remarks
The Malo boatyard in Sweden was established in 1939, and each year, a small number of comfortable semi-custom, high-specification, high-quality boats are built that are well suited for ocean cruising. Between 1984 and 1988, one of their most successful boats was the 106 (10.6m, 34.78ft, LOA). In 1988, they introduced a stretched variant of this popular masthead sloop, marketed as the 106 plus (or 36 plus), being 11.4m (37.4ft). NORNOUR is one of these comparatively rare examples, perhaps providing the model for the Malo 38, which was introduced the same year.
This beautiful boat was purchased by its present owners, only its third, in 2014. They intended to use her for holiday/retirement cruising along the South Coast of England. Unfortunately, old age and sickness overtook them, and their ambitions were reduced to fine weather day sailing East of Falmouth and West of Salcombe and kept on a swinging mooring in the Fowey River between May and October and on the hard in Tom’s yard from October to May. Her engine has been regularly serviced, and her gear has been upgraded. An excellent sailing boat with a large, deep, dry cockpit and a boom which does not extend aft of the companionway, she is a delightful boat to sail and a joy to look at. A reluctant sale priced to sell.Accommodation
