Welsh Wakeboard Open 2012
It’s that time of year again when the season is drawing to a close and last weekend saw Glasfryn Wake Parc host the annual Welsh Wakeboard Open to end the year with a bang! This year the event is the final stop of the System 2.0 Grass Roots Tour organised by the guys at Industry Wakeparks. Riders have been battling it out at System 2.0 parks all over the country to be crowned overall champion of the tour.
The weather on the day was a mixed bag, with everything from blinding sunshine to freakish hail storms! That didn’t deter anyone from taking part with over 40 riders hitting the water during the day and plenty of spectators to cheer them on. Network Yacht Broker’s own Marc Jackson and Sarah Killip braved the cold to compete.
After winning the Mens Rookie category in 2010, Marc was promoted to the Intermediate division. Marc maintained his winning streak by claiming 1st place on the podium in the Mens Intermediate division.
Sarah was up next and despite taking a couple of falls on her run, also went away with first place in the Ladies Open category. This gave her enough points to come 2nd overall on the Grass Roots Tour!
